“Half-a-billion dollar Powerball winning ticket sold here, the only one in the United States, so we are thrilled”, said New Hampshire Lottery spokesperson Maura McCann.

By midday Sunday, the jackpot victor in Saturday night’s drawing had not come forward. Therefore, the five out of 35 jackpot without the powerball is now estimated at $10,000 for Wednesday’s draw.

The golden ticket was an easy pick purchased at the customer service counter.

Someone won the $487 million Powerball jackpot on July 30, and they haven’t claimed their prize money.

The jackpot had been creeping up since May, when there was one winning ticket for the 9 million jackpot.

Powerball is offered in 44 States, Washington D.C., Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands.

The jackpot for tonight’s Powerball drawing has increased to $478 million, making it the fifth largest in the game’s history and the eighth largest lottery prize in USA history.

The ticket was sold at the Hannaford Supermarket in Raymond, New Hampshire. Each entry to the Powerball costs $2 and the Power Play option costs an additional $1 per line.

This allows them to generate bigger jackpots, increase sales, and ultimately offer larger prizes.

The drawing is held Wednesday and Saturday at 10:59 p.m.
