What it was supposed to be a scheduled Saturday night race that turned into a Sunday afternoon into a Sunday night race, Kevin Harvick had to race in two different days to get the checkered flag at Bristol Motor Speedway.
Kyle Busch, who led 256 laps, clearly had the strongest vehicle, leading a race-high 256 laps. The No. 3 wheelman fought to overtake Harvick for eight laps, looking for momentum in the inside lane.
“This is definitely a big win for me personally”, Childers said. “I’d been wrecking for half a lap and they just came through and cleaned us out”. “We’ve been having parts failures here, so something we’ve got to address and fix”. It was also the first for Stewart-Hass racing at Bristol.
“I wanted Tony to go on a victory lap with me and say good-bye to all the fans here at Bristol, but the burn outs were pretty cool”, said Harvick.
As his victory celebration, Harvick did a synchronized burnout with his teammate, boss and friend Stewart on the front straightaway. “The amusing part is he got out of his vehicle to grab the flag and he goes, ‘Get in my auto and go to Victory Lane with me.’ And I was like, ‘What?’ I can’t leave my auto here!’ But that was cool”. “This is a hard place to win and I’m proud of that team”. Who Else Had a Good Day: Stenhouse Jr.
“I told myself the last 10 laps we weren’t racing anybody, there wasn’t anybody around us”. “The way that our vehicle was restarting it felt comfortable, it felt good”. All of the racetrack what they’ve done this week. We. Another cell caused a almost seven-minute red flag with 66 laps remaining. “We had a win in our sights and I just drove the vehicle at 101 percent instead of that 99 that I probably needed to be at”. We started when forced. Row motorsports Ford. Ford was also a long long runs.
Busch began to complain that he thought he might have a broken right-rear shock. Chris Buescher rounded out the top five, and, as a result, climbed into the top 30 of the points standings, making his win on August 1 at Pocono Raceway count for a berth in the Chase for the Sprint Cup championship postseason. But to get back to Victory Lane here at Bristol, it feels really good. “We are able to get to the bottom and make passes later in runs”. Preparing for a night race is one thing, but when it turns into a day race it can completely throw off the build a team is using in their auto.
Rain drops rest on the covered vehicle of Denny Hamlin as trucks, background, dry the track for a NASCAR Sprint Cup Series auto race, Sunday, Aug. 21, 2016 in Bristol, Tenn. Fittingly for a race halted because of Saturday night storms, Harvick had to sit out one last rain delay before pulling away on the restart and cruising to victory.
Kyle Busch had the lead, followed by Chase Elliott, Ryan Blaney, Denny Hamlin and Matt Kenseth. “The last few times we’ve been here, we’ve had really fast M&M’s Toyota Camrys and we haven’t been able to finish”. Really exhausted of losing races here because of parts failures. “It’s something we have to address”. How Harvick Won: After starting 24th in the field, Harvick methodically moved toward the front of the field. I think it just has always meant a lot to me. “I just won a trophy. It was one of those Bristol things”.
“Something broke, obviously”, a frustrated Busch said. I should have just been at 99%. “I missed it by a little bit, it was my fault”.
Kurt Busch blamed hitting the sealer for his wreck. Carl Edwards, Jimmie Johnson, Jamie McMurray, AJ Allmendinger and Joey Logano completed the first ten finishers.
Rick Hendrick won’t have Jeff Gordon as an option should Dale Earnhardt Jr.
“There really is no other experience like attending a NASCAR race in person, and that’s especially true for kids”, said Jill Gregory, NASCAR senior vice president and chief marketing officer.

It was just one of many ways where drivers lost this race.
