Winston’s record day keys Bucs’ big breakout

Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Jameis Winston (3) throws against the Philadelphia Eagles during the first quarter at Lincoln Financial Field. If they had won, coming back to work the next day might have been a whole lot easier to accept. Doug Martin has been playing well throughout. It was second only to his own 250 yard performance against the Oakland Raiders a few years back. As far as the offensive line is concerned, we’re going to go out there and battle. The five touchdowns also tied the franchise record; and had he made one more, it would have broken the record. “Those sacks, those interceptions we need that from him”.

If anyone said before today that the Bucs would have possession of the best offensive day overall this week, they would be lying. “No heart. Embarrassing in every aspect of the game”, tweeted @Merv_215. The overhaul worked brilliantly in some ways, most notably with the ground game and his selection with receivers.

“He was just fired up”, Smith said. “Nothing is really surprising me that he’s doing”.

“Well, when you see DeMarco sliding before getting hit, you tell me”.

“We see him in more and more situations, and it seems like each week he shows something that we haven’t seen”.

“I think it’s going to be that way”. “He’s a good football player”.

“These fans deserve to see better football”, linebacker Connor Barwin said. Six different receivers caught a pass. Five of those receivers caught at least three passes. Tight end Austin Seferian-Jenkins, who hasn’t played since Week 2 because of a shoulder injury, may be back in the lineup at Indianapolis on Sunday.

Martin carried the ball 27 times for 235 yards.

It was supposed to be a look into the future of the National Football League, when Jameis Winston and the Buccaneers meet the Colts for a Week 12 matchup. “I don’t think that’s a bad thing at all to go into the fifth year”.

“I don’t think Doug came into the season thinking he wasn’t wanted around here”. I think it’s all good. “If I’m Doug Martin, I’m pretty happy I didn’t sign a contract before and I like the position I’m in right now”. That is good for the second most in Bucs’ history.

Winston completed 22 of 39 passes for 264 yards, including a 17-yard throw to Brandon Myers to help get the Bucs into position to win the game. The winning streak coincides with the two-best defensive games the Buccaneers have played this season.

“It’s amusing, when you win and that happens, everybody says, ‘Those two guys are really competitive.’ When [Patriots QB] Tom Brady yells at [Patriots WR] Julian Edelman and they win the game, [people are talking about] what a competitor the quarterback is”.

But when one player questions another player’s effort, it does suggest something larger about the institution. In the chart below, also provided by the site, the New Orleans Saints and Atlanta Falcons – teams in the NFC South – are far more likely to earn a playoff berth than Tampa Bay.
