Winter Storm Warning Downgrades To Advisory
Snow, sleet, freezing rain and gusty winds are expected to create treacherous driving conditions across upstate NY.

The National Weather Service issued a winter storm warning for a large portion of the state.
Areas in the southwestern suburbs like Romeoville and Morris may see as much as half an inch of ice, but there should be less ice accumulation closer to the lakefront due to heavy winds heated by the lake.
In addition, winds will become strong out of the east, with gusts to 45-50 miles per hour likely from mid-afternoon into the evening.
The entire Local 4 Area is under a Winter Storm Watch for a storm that will arrive on Monday and last from early morning to late evening.
Forecasters say up to 4 to 8 inches of snow may fall in northern portions of central and northern NY. Significant snowfall and high winds are expected beginning early Monday morning.
I NEED YOUR HELP: please take photos of your sleet and ice accumulation and post them on Storm Pins.
Brian says “this is a very tricky forecast”, and to keep in mind that a change in the temperature by two degrees at 5,000 – 10,000 feet in the air could be the difference between three inches of snow and eight inches of snow.
On Tuesday, rain will continue until about 1 p.m. with a high temperature of 47, according to the website.

Olson said skies over Madison should be cloudy Tuesday, mostly cloudy Wednesday and Thursday, partly sunny Friday, mostly sunny Saturday, partly sunny Sunday, and mostly sunny Monday, with highs near 33, 29, 23, 21, 27 and 29, and overnight lows around 22, 17, 9, 11, 17, 16 and 22. While there may be an occasional light snow shower, I don’t expect any accumulating snow through this upcoming weekend, which means that we’ll likely finish this month as both the 3 least snowiest December on record, as well as the warmest December on record.
