Winter Storm Warning Issued for Southeast Wisconsin; Snow Starts Friday Night
A Winter Storm Warning is in effect from 9 p.m. Friday through 3 p.m. Saturday for the entire Chicago area. Snow, heavy at times will continue to push across eastern Iowa into the overnight hours.

You might want to bundle up this weekend because the first snow of the season could be arriving. Winter doesn’t officially begin until December 21, but it looks like someone forgot to send the memo to Mother Nature as we’re expected to see our first measurable snow of the season Saturday.
Now the Madison area will be seeing 4 to 6 inches, while southern counties are seeing closer to 6 to 8 inches. Three to 5 inches of snow is likely in Des Moines, especially on grassy and elevated surfaces.
If temperatures stay warmer a bit longer than expected, of if the storm system shifts north a little, the Chicago area might not get much snow, if any.
Tomorrow will be cloudy and windy with snow – a few of it heavy.
Residents in Elgin say they are enjoying the snow – for now.
To assist the Street Department in their plowing and cleanup efforts, the Watertown Police Department has declared a snow emergency that will go into effect at 11:00 p.m. tonight, Friday November 20th. The sun returns Sunday, but the cold will hang on with highs hovering around 30 degrees.

The weather conditions and track of the storm are still somewhat uncertain, so forecasters might update snowfall predictions before Saturday. Drivers should be aware of icy roads and quick changes in road conditions and visibility. The snow is forecast to enter western Iowa by late tomorrow morning and push east. – At night, keep your dome light on if possible.
