A lake effect snow advisory remains in effect until 1 a.m. Tuesday for Genesee County. This will cause more blowing and drifting snow, with wind chill values below zero Tuesday afternoon.

After a couple of weeks of unseasonably mild temperatures, snow and blustery conditions returned to southeast MI on Sunday. This system will enhance the lake effect snow already impacting the Northeast. High temperatures are expected to dip into the low 40s Sunday and Monday, Tolby said.

Lake-effect snow was predicted to hit Tuesday – Thursday, with some areas alongside the Great Lakes expecting two feet of snow through Thursday, according to Weather.com.

Temperatures will fall through the 20s this afternoon and into the teens tonight.

Then on Saturday into Sunday a storm system is expected to bring “measurable” snow to our area, though a rain/sleet/snow boundary will split the state into thirds. Snowfall will start to move into Southern Indiana by 4 a.m. and into Louisville between 6 and 7 a.m.

Good Tuesday, everyone. We have a fast-moving band of snow working across the state early today. Isolated snow showers and flurries will remain possible throughout the rest of the day.

Now through 1 p.m.: Breezy conditions with west wind gusts over 30 miles per hour. (193.5 inches each season) and Hancock, Mich. (211.9 inches each season), lake-effect snow is a big contributor to the monstrous snow totals seen each season. This ratio means that it will not take much liquid precipitation to result in heavy snow amounts.

– Moderate snow will continue overnight. “It seems like there are several inches of…thick ice around the vehicle”.

Wednesday Night: Partly cloudy and windy, with a low around 14. “Areas getting in on these bands can pick up a quick 2″ or 3” of snow.

Mostly cloudy skies are expected on Thursday, with a high near 28. That rain is forecast to change back to snow on Saturday.
