More snow is headed to CT and to help drivers prepare for slippery conditions during their Monday morning commute, Eyewitness News has declared it an Early Warning Weather Day.
The approaching storm is going to be the real deal for much of southern New England.
The National Weather Service issued a winter weather advisory from DE to New Jersey and a winter storm warning for most of New England.
Although it appears that the ingredients may not come together just right for a major winter storm, additional accumulating snow is likely across the region.
The greatest chance of snow is between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Temperatures will fall throughout the day to about 27 degrees by 5 p.m. Strong winds and heavy snow will create blizzard/white-out conditions at times.
“Cameron said even with real punch of the storm likely missing us, the far reaching bands of snowfall could make their way into CT giving most of us 2″ to 4”.
Burke said that while the front arriving over land will be dry, it is powerful and that can nudge snow amounts up.
The Monday storm could also bring 30 miles per hour winds, with gusts blowing upwards of 45 miles per hour.
Winter storm watches are also posted for eastern MA and northern Rhode Island. Snow intensity begins to diminish by mid afternoon.

The NWS said that snow would be followed by colder weather, with several days of below-freezing temperatures expected this work week.
