Warmth returns to the Denver metro area Thursday with an expected high of 59 degrees, but don’t expect it to last.

Winds will be coming out of the west at 15 to 25 miles per hour with gusts up to 45 miles per hour. High near 24. Southwest wind 14 to 17 miles per hour becoming south-southeast in the afternoon. Please make sure to protect people, pets and perhaps pipes as we head into this early winterlike chill.
The National Weather Service issued wind and wind-chill advisories on Thursday morning. Wind chills will range from zero to -10 degrees. Winds stay strong much of the night and gusts to 60mph are possible.
Friday night’s low temperatures are expected in the teens or low 20s. Monday will be another cold sunny day in the mid 20’s with building high pressure. “Dry conditions are expected for Friday”. As high pressure takes over, winds will lighten through Friday afternoon-but we remain cold.
There is a slight chance of snow showers after 1 p.m. today with temperatures falling to 6 degrees by 5 p.m., the service says.
A brief period of snow will develop Thursday night as relatively warm air moves into the region.
The Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency (MEMA) reports that 3-5 inches of snow are expected in many communities throughout western Massachusetts, and up to 8 inches of snow may fall in certain areas of Berkshire county.
Walk and drive carefully on icy sidewalks and roads.
