Wisconsin Badgers vs. Purdue Boilermakers: Predictions

On Saturday, the Boilermakers (1-5) travel to Wisconsin (4-2), which has lost only to Alabama and unbeaten Iowa. Playing the Illinois and Wisconsin defense have had something to do with it, but Armstrong has completed 21-of-59 passes for just 234 yards with a touchdown and a pick over the last two games.

The Ohio native has played three games – Miami (Ohio), Troy and Hawaii – at center this year, all of the reps coming in mop-up duty and none of it with Stave. Clement is the most talented runner in that backfield. “But I told the team after the game that if they play this well in every game, you’re going to win nearly all your games”.

They average 148.2 rushing yards per game, No. 13 in the Big Ten.

Voltz sprained his left elbow near the end of the Badgers’ last game, a two-point victory at Nebraska. “I think the league is as good as it’s been”, Michigan State coach Tom Izzo said during Thursday’s Big Ten media day.

I’ll just save you the trouble and let you know this game is going to be all Badgers, Badgers, Badgers, Badgers, Badgers. It’s a huge game for both teams in the divisional pecking order – check out the Nebraska vs. Minnesota prediction and game preview. Even with such experience, Shoop has seen little success. “I think what we’ve done as a conference is – you know, we put money into our sport”, Izzo said. She is the first Purdue player to garner two Big Ten accolades in a season since Ariel Turner earned three nods in 2012.

The Badgers have been working on it in practice, and will look to up that percentage Saturday, according to senior #1 receiver Alex Erickson. “That’s one of the things that is tough”. The Boilermakers have fight in them, but they have been out-matched most of the season.

The Boilermakers are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games in October and 2-7-1 ATS in their last 10 games overall.

“We’ve been dealing with that since last spring, “says Michael Deiter, a redshirt freshman who has bounced around the line this season, “In camp we had a lot of different rotation changes so as insane as it seems, I mean, we’re kind of used to it. It’s not really that big of a deal”.

Specifically, as the Boilers reach the season’s halfway point with a 1-5 record that coach Darrell Hazell’s calls the biggest surprise – and not in a good way – the focus is on dialing back the offense to improve execution.

Freshman tailback Markell Jones has been a bright spot for the underwhelming Boilermakers. The Huskers might be 106th in the nation in total defense, and the secondary has been a hot mess, but Malik Collins and the run defense have been terrific.

That lead held for just five minutes as Wisconsin’s McKenna Meuer scored off a Badger corner-kick situation, striking in a loose ball from the top of the six-yard box to make it 2-1 at 65:45.
