Wisconsin football holds annual Media Day

The Badgers football team is getting set to begin its 2015 season. The team then took its annual photo, which was followed by Family Fun Day. The team captured the West Division, but the Badgers were embarrassed by Ohio State 59-0 in the conference championship game. Former coach and present athletic director Barry Alvarez mentored the workforce throughout its bowl recreation – a 34-31 extra time conquer Auburn.

It’s bound to be a fascinating new era for the Badgers, although there’s a heavy sense of familiarity in Paul Chryst returning to Madison and bringing several former UW coaches back with him. Gordon led the nation in dashing, tallying 2,587 yards and 29 touchdowns, and his departure leaves Wisconsin on the lookout for a brand new featured again. The Badgers may not have to look far. Last season, they combined for just 21 catches, including 13 by Fredrick, who is known more for his blocking than his receiving.

Instead, it was media day for Wisconsin. “I think I also have had some great conversation with Corey and that he knows who he is and he knows that he doesn’t have to be Melvin….”

The team placed third in the league in sacks (37). It started in the spring of 2014 as a competition between Joel Stave and Tanner McEvoy. New coach Paul Chryst says senior Joel Stave has earned the right to be the Number-One signal caller. There he competed 23-of-28 passes for 283 yards, three touchdowns and one pick. He additionally threw 10 interceptions, together with six within the last two video games towards Ohio State and Auburn.

Wisconsin’s offensive line has been one of its biggest assets thanks to a group of five starters who never missed a start in 2014.

Wisconsin’s first game is September 5 against Alabama, a game that can be seen on Newsline 9. The Badgers are 10-point underdogs towards the Crimson Tide.
