Wisconsin has a couple of upset wins but the win over LSU has lost some of its luster and I think Michigan State is an overrated team whose signature win was against an even more overrated Notre Dame team. He is one of the most versatile playmakers that has played in recent years. He’s the kind of coach that you’ll never see go for two unless his team is down two with no time left on the clock, and to see him go for it on fourth down is nearly just as rare. That’s what’s impressive, his knowledge and awareness of the game, clearly as an athlete. It wouldn’t surprise me to see Mike Weber have his first real big game after he has gone for 351 yards in his first three games as starting running back. The key will be Wilton Speight taking care of the football and making good decisions when under pressure. He had a solid first start, but let’s not anoint him yet. He has two kickoff returns, averaging 40 yards per attempt.
Wisconsin LB T.J. Watt, younger brother of three-time NFL Defensive Player of the Year and ex-Badger J.J. Watt, broke out with 2.5 sacks, 3.5 tackles for loss and a total of six stops last week against Michigan State.
Purdue at Maryland: Well, well, well, look at Maryland coming into conference play undefeated. The college football odds have MI favored by double digits to pick up the win. They can’t have both, but not having both leads to firings. “I think it started in the offseason, the workouts, the meetings with each other and just having the same attitude as a year ago”. Nickel cornerback Natrell Jamerson (fibula) is out for the third consecutive game.
MI has looked unstoppable on offense this season. With the 5-foot-11, 219-pounder officially ruled out for the remainder of the season, place-kicking duties will fall to Andrew Endicott. But it has been even longer than that since Wisconsin has beaten a top-five MI team. It’s a substantial loss for a squad playing at such a high level, but there are options.
The quarterback play has been fine, but not spine-tingling.
To wrap up the show, we both made a “bold” prediction for the game on Saturday. After this game, a bye week is much needed before Ohio State. The Cornhuskers average 242 yards rushing and 243 yards passing.
It’s a paradox, really; coaches are caught between giving their team the best chance to win and satisfying fans and the media.
For the record, Wisconsin won 48-28 in the Big House during Rich Rodriguez’s third and final season as Wolverines coach in 2010. The Badgers will have to take advantage of the mismatch presented between their front-seven and the Wolverine offensive line.

It has been since 2010 that MI has played Wisconsin. He also had an interception in each of his last two games. To him, however, the magnitude of the game was no big deal.
