In my career of 45 years, such adjectives were never attached to my name and now if they are being attached, I think the whole process is complete that’s all.

Palekar could not be reached for a comment but Supran Sen, secretary general of Film Federation of India (FFI), which selects the Oscar entry, called Rawail’s claims “ridiculous”. It is completely untrue that I resigned from the jury after Court was selected. He alleged Amol Palekar had shown disinterest in the selection of the movie but finally voted for it. Amol Palekar in a reaction chose not to speak about the selection process but weigh his words to convey that he was hurt at what Rahul Rawail had said against him.
“After Marathi film “Court“, Kannada film ‘Care of Footpath 2″ has made everyone proud and excited by entering the Oscar race. Soon afterwards, Rawail tweeted that he had resigned from the jury and blamed Palekar for being “obnoxious”. “But today was the last straw”, said Rawail, accusing Palekar of not conducting the voting process properly. It depicts the trial of a folk singer accused of sedition.
“Ever since we started making the film, we kept our expectations low”, Tamhane said on Wednesday.
This has surely stirred lot of talks in the Entertainment industry and is a concern for the Film Federation of India. It also said that Rawail, who quit the jury in a fit of fury, should have alerted senior officials before going public with his allegations. But it failed to make the cut to the final nomination list. His recent film was Jo Bole So Nihaal (2005).
In 2013, the little-known Gujarati film “The Good Road” was chosen by the FFI jury over Ritesh Batra’s critically acclaimed “The Lunchbox“, sparking outrage on social media and in Bollywood circles.
