With New Hampshire In Rearview, Candidates Head To South Carolina
Donald Trump nailed down a decisive first victory in New Hampshire’s presidential primary Tuesday, proving his unorthodox campaign can translate the large crowds at his rambunctious rallies into the votes that determine delegates.

Trump had 35 percent, with Ohio Gov. John Kasich a distant second with 16 percent. Rubio went from a third place showing in Iowa to fifth place in New Hampshire with 10.5 percent.
Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush and Florida Sen.
Candidates are now retooling pitches for the primaries ahead for the GOP, as on February 20 they will be in SC with Nevada on February 23. “But they’re also hungry, they’re hungry for solutions”, the former secretary of state said. “I’m not gonna sit there and be a marshmallow and have somebody pound me. It is just going to take a little longer, but we are going to get there”.
Republican candidates now head to SC.
Christie has cancelled an event Wednesday in SC, an organizer says.
“We’ll have a debate on Saturday. And we’ve learned, it’s not whether we get knocked down that matters, it’s whether you get back up”.
While parts of New Hampshire may have been predictable, what happens next is not likely to be.
Mr Sanders, a Vermont Senator, will have his work cut out to beat Democratic rival Hillary Clinton in this month’s contests in Nevada and SC.
The results were surprising and not so surprising out of the Democratic Party with regards to Bernie Sanders. We know about… trade. “So I’m not anxious about what the other folks say”, Kasich said.
The fact she could be helping to elect a woman president was also an important factor, she said. Six of those superdelegates have committed to Clinton, giving her a total of 15 delegates from New Hampshire as of Wednesday afternoon. Well we’re proud patriotic Americans, so I think it’s exciting to wear the headscarf, proudly, as an American Muslim. “We were just there, and we had 12,000 people in a wonderful, wonderful arena”, he told CNN’s Jake Tapper. But he failed pretty badly to get the 2nd place finish in New Hampshire his campaign was setting up for.
“This campaign is not dead, ” Bush told his supporters.
“As it often does, New Hampshire has reset the race”. The political landscape is much different. The South Carolina senator endorsed Bush after abandoning his own hopes for the presidency in December.
Kasich has stood out in the 2016 presidential field for a message that is rooted in the “compassionate conservative” ethos, which helped propel George W. Bush to the White House.
Natalie Faulkes, in her 50s, said in the end she voted for Mrs Clinton, because she did not believe Mr Sanders could deliver on all his promises.
But the most withering hit from Christie came during Saturday’s debate, when he interrupted Rubio in the middle of a talking point, saying “there he goes again”.
