I found myself completely invested in the story and the characters during the film’s first hour, but the screenplay isn’t as surefooted post-intermission. Katrina, probably for the first time in her Bollywood career, does total justice to her role as the obsession-inducing Firdaus, with the much-hyped red hair.
Even Tabu’s character loses its edge when we fail to fully comprehend the reason behind her conniving nature.
No…Not that I am complaining, the R-rated humour and scenes definitely suits the superhero flick, and is a refreshing welcome change from the usual stuff that we enjoy from the superhero stable.
Fortunately, her family has become fairly inured over the years to the media circus surrounding Katrina. By the way, this year she will be spending V-day with Sidharth Malhotra, as they are travelling for shooting of Baar Baar Dekho. “This is what happens, we know not to believe it”.
The story follows the life of a Central Intelligence Agency agent Carrie Mathison and how she starts suspecting a celebrated war hero, who was once held as a prisoner by a terrorist group, and may in fact be a terrorist sleeper agent. Of course, there are hard times where you want to restrict or limit the comments and speculation… She throws the boy out the palace and asked him to make his own mark in the society with his talent and then marry rich zamindar’s daughter. Can you depoliticise Kashmir and yet not quite let go of it for your plot’s convenience?
So does she handle the stress that’s part of the job description a whole lot better now?
And fittingly, it is Tabu who steers this film with a supremely confident performance, holding you captive right till the end. You should evolve as a person.
