While the Bucks were thrilled – their 10-15 start largely had been a disappointment until Saturday – and their sellout crowd of 18,717 was giddy, the Warriors were a long ways from sad. The Warriors were taken to two overtimes the previous night against the Celtics.

Of the streak ending, Curry said: “We’re a little upset that it came to an end”. After he finished his verse, Green was asked when he knew the streak was finished, and a laughing Stephen Curry interjected, “When coach subbed us out”. While Curry is 6’3, which is fine for the point guard position, his low weight doesn’t provide a lot of physicality on defense. The Golden State Warriors were going to lose. In addition to last year’s Warriors, the Kansas City Royals also claimed a championship after starting the 2015 season with a MLB-best seven straight wins.

Abruptly halted A young and not entirely fully-formed team, the Bucks didn’t look like they had much chance of putting up a fight, let alone handing the Warriors their first loss of the season.

Golden State can now concentrate on chasing down the 1995-96 Chicago Bulls’ 72-10 season record, the NBA’s all-time best – after a 24-1 start, a 49-8 finish doesn’t seem insurmountable. We were at home, a packed house.

To get to the Bucks’ streakbuster, you have to start in Boston. Back in 2012, the other half of the Splash Brothers showed signs of an unstable ankle – an injury that could potentially get him out of the hardwood for months or even for an entire season. “We’re competitors, so we’re not complaining about it. It is fun to play that way”, Livingston said. The rebound numbers are justifiable when you have Bogut and Green cleaning up on the boards, but his three point shooting really does need to improve. 500 selves of last season, when they surprised everyone with a 26-game improvement to 41-41 and the No. 6 seed in the East. That team largely has been absent, slippage coming due to unreliable shooting and defensive breakdowns that they mostly avoided Saturday. “But it is nearly like a sense of relief”, Green said. The Warriors committed 16 turn overs. But the champs are champs for a reason – they go on a run – and then go in front as Festus Ezeli is able to get the hoop and the harm. “Like if you start off bad, it feels like by the time you wake up, the game’s over”.

“And, yeah, you should get paid market value, paid for what you’re worth, but at the time, for four years, I was comfortable with it”, Curry further shared.

Love competing with my brothers every night! “But tonight it didn’t go our way”.

Saturday’s loss also ended an emerging debate over how to calculate the Warriors’ winning streak.

I give the Warriors the benefit of the doubt on these matchups, but all I am saying is 24-1 doesn’t end the 72-10 talk we’ve been hearing all season.

Counting the four games from the end of last season, the Warriors won 28 regular-season games in a row, which would top the 27 straight won by the Miami Heat in 2013, the second most after the Lakers’ streak.
