“Many congratulations must go to them and a huge thank you for the continued hard work and support of our dedicated staff who can celebrate these results too”.

Caistor Yarborough Academy is lodging an enquiry with the examination board following the release of GCSE results today.

“For the past four years over 70% of our students have achieved the benchmark 5A*-C including English and Maths.

Maximising student outcomes is a high priority for the school and staff have done extremely well in this regard”. Once again, the students have responded to the challenges that were set and have not just met their targets, but have exceeded them.

Girls also outperform boys in terms of achieving the very top grades – with 7.9% getting an A*, compared with 5.0%, although both saw a slight decline.

There was a 100% pass rate in 13 subjects – Art, Biology, Chemistry, German, History, Italian, Music, Photography, Physics, PE, RE, Statistics and Textiles.

Jamie Jardine, the principal of the Clifton Road school, added that more than half of students also achieved either an A* or A grade as part of their results.

This means Haringey schools, on average, scored 14 per cent above the national average in English and nine per cent above in maths.

“We wish them all the best for the next steps they choose take into employment or education”.

Keen musician Emma Robson, 16, from Doxford Park was celebrating six A* and five A grades.

The school is particularly proud of its English results after 78 per cent of pupils made three levels of progress.

Headteacher, David Barton, who retires from the headship at Budehaven at the end of this month was delighted with the students’ successes.

“In addition to the overall figure, every pupil achieved at least a grade C in Science and all pupils who receive free school meals got five A-C including English and Maths”.

“The excellent results reflect the hard work and dedication of an exceptional group of students”, he said.

Headteacher John Russell said: “Our percentage is slightly down on past year but that was partly expected because of the changes but overall we are very happy”.

And do share with your family and friends – so they don’t miss out!
