Withings Hides Top Fitness Tracking Features in Attractive Watch
Seamless, Modern Design Steel HR has all the features of a stylish analog watch that users actually want to wear: French design, stainless steel casing, chrome hands, and modern silicone straps. The Withings Steel HR can be charged on a magnetic charging path that ensures that the Withings Steel HR makes good contact with the charger.

Where the Steel HR really stands out, however, is in the looks department. A newly updated Withings Health app will fold in the data, much like other fitness apps have already done.
Withings Steel HR 36mm can be pre-ordered starting today in white and black colors exclusively on Withings’s website for $179.95.
Withings’ latest watch, the Steel HR, is an analogue activity-tracking device that doesn’t look like your average fitness tracker – but it does everything you’ve come to expect from a wrist-based fitness band. The display can be controlled by a new button on the side of the watch.
Withings has included a round display inside the analog watch interface.
You won’t need to worry about charging the Steel HR every day as it is said to last for around 25 days per charge with heart rate monitoring. Thankfully, Withings is still promising an extremely long battery life of 25 days which can be extended an addition 20 days once it activates its low-power mode that turns off the heart rate sensor. A sub-dial on the Steel HR tracks the percentage of a user’s daily activity goal that’s been achieved, while an added digital screen displays health data like heart rate and notifications from a connected smartphone. Moreover, Steel HR will automatically initiate continuous heart rate while running. This is an increasingly requested feature in the fitness tracker sphere, so it’s great to see Withings finally stepping up to the mark.
Withings, now a part of Nokia, hasn’t incorporated heart rate into any of its current fitness trackers. With that information, the Health Mate app can generate graphs and tell you your resting heart rate.
The device also includes a heart rate monitor, which can track heart rate continuously throughout a workout session and can be activated simply by pushing on the device’s multipurpose button.
As I alluded to earlier, the Steel HR borrows from previous Withings devices in that it offers automatic tracking. The Steel HR is water resistant and can be used when swimming. By the end of that month, it will also be available in offline stores.
Using the company’s Android or iOS, you can determine what is displayed on the screen.
