Withings Thermo is a Wi-Fi thermometer you don’t have to disinfect
Withings says the Thermo identifies the hottest part by taking more than 4,000 measurements and reads back your temperature in a matter of seconds.

If the thought of sticking a thermometer where the sun don’t shine to get an accurate reading disgusts you, Withings new Thermo provides a far less awkward, but equally accurate way to measure someone’s body temperature with just a simple tap on their forehead.
Thanks to Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity, the thermometer can also automatically send temperature readings to an iOS or Android smartphone application. The LED on the device will provide a temperature along with color-coded feedback that glows green for normal, orange for moderated, and red for elevated temperature levels.
Withings, the fit tech company best known for its Wi-Fi scale and stylish line-up of activity trackers, is diving deeper into health with a high-tech thermometer that is, of course, connected to the Internet. “Withings Thermo was created to have a similar impact on the family’s health routine”, Cedric Hutchings, CEO of Withings, said in an emailed statement. The app also allows users to log additional symptoms or making notes of any medicines administered. In addition, notifications can be set to prompt parents with measurement reminders to better monitor fever episodes.
Instead of having to constantly charge the Thermo, a pair of easily replaceable AA batteries inside keep it running for up to two full years. The Thermo is a Class IIa medical device, with appropriate filings for FDA-Cleared status in the United States and CE Medical Approved status in the European Union, according to Withings’ press release.
There are already some smart thermometers on the market which connect to your smartphones – such as the Kinsa – but all these solutions to date have required users to take measurements orally or under the arm.
