The Indian cricket board has decided to stick to its earlier diktat to players regarding their wives and girlfriends.

A majority of the squad selected for the tour have been on a break from cricket since returning from heart-breaking Bangladesh last month. “And we’ve decided that their wives will not be allowed on tour”, a BCCI official was quoted as saying.
In the short-term, it’s learnt that the Indian team won’t just be without a head mentor, additionally their group chief. BCCI secretary Anurag Thakur recently said that the panel comprising of Sourav Ganguly, Sachin Tendulkar and VVS Laxman will most probably recommend a name before South Africa’s tour to India begins in September. While Shastri will associate with as director for each of the three Tests, his future in the role keeps on staying covered in puzzle.
