Wladimir Klitschko says: I want a heavyweight rematch with Tyson Fury

Fury (25-0, 18 KOs) shocked the world by taking the WBA, IBF and WBO belts from long-reigning Wladimir Klitschko via a unanimous points decision in Germany last Saturday. Klitschko is sure to be better prepared for a second bout against Fury and this is probably the best holiday gift that he [Klitschko] could receive.

“It’s been four days now and I need some time to understand what happened and to decide my next steps”, he said on Instagram.

‘I will be making use of my contractual option for a rematch against Fury.

“If Klitschko had retired, we could have slipped straight in and dealt with the mandatory but it says in the contract we can’t have a voluntary so we’re in between a rock and a hard place”.

“There will be a huge worldwide interest in this fight which already can be billed as the fight of the year 2016”, said Boente.

Newly crowned world heavyweight champion Tyson Fury has said he holds an ambition to fight at Croke Park in a world title defence. “Let him go and fight Fred Flintstone or Joe Bloggs and make no money”, Fury continued.

“We’re very much looking forward to the rematch because I want Tyson to do a more convincing job”.

Peter Fury also confirmed that his nephew would not defend his new championships in a fight before Klitschko.

“I think Wladimir is really in two minds about the rematch because he looked really busted up to me at the press conference after”, Hennessy said, according to ESPN.

“I’m quite confident the fight can be a mega fight here in the United Kingdom and I’m hopeful the fight can end up here”.

Wilder told BBC Radio 5 Live: “I’ve got to fight someone in January and after that fight I would love to have a unification bout – and guess what, I wouldn’t mind coming to the United Kingdom for that one. Failure is not an option”. I’ve enjoyed it. I got a great reception from the German fans.

Immediately after his victory, Fury said that he had no problems having another rematch.
