Wladimir Klitschko takes up rematch option against Fury
Klitschko was the heavy favourite to win the fight in Dusseldorf but he struggled to find his range against the 6ft 9in Fury who beat Klitschko in points.

Fury said the Klitschko camp tried every trick to unsettle him. “I am not in this game to fight on all my life”. As you say, he’s rowing back now and I’m glad he’s rowing back now.
Asked about fighting Wilder, Fury told BBC Sports: “Why do we need to mention Deontay Wilder?”.
“I see the outcome being no different”.
“Let’s laugh at his name, shall we?”
Speaking to Sean O’Rourke on RTÉ Radio 1 this morning, he said he is unsure of what his next bout will be – but a second fight with Wladimir Klitschko is still a possibility. Probably the pound-for-pound king, whatever that means.
This is what I want to change in the re-match – and I will. Why would I be bothered about a novice like Wilder? “There are some big fights ahead for me”. I’ve been doing it all my life.
Parker will have to wait to fight either boxer after Klitschko announced that he has exercised his option of an immediate rematch with Fury. “I would like it to be back here in the United Kingdom”, he said.
“I think Wladimir is really in two minds about the rematch because he looked really busted up to me at the press conference after”, Hennessy said, according to ESPN.
“I saw in his eyes tonight he was going to lose the fight and he saw the new, hungry champion in me”, he adds. It has not come easily. “He wasn’t robbed, but he deserves it, he trains hard and worked hard”.
“He is a pretender, a fraud and he is getting no opportunities from us”. The British fighter’s victory marked the end of Klitschko’s nine-year reign as world heavyweight champion. Phil Barnett considers the new champion’s next move.
The 39-year-old said in a video message on Instagram: “I have a pre-Christmas gift for Tyson Fury and all boxing fans around the world”.

He will have a whole host of challengers chasing his titles, not least fellow Briton David Haye, who returns to the ring in January and also exciting talent Anthony Joshua, who like Fury, can boast an unbeaten record. But Fury half-jokingly “called him out” and stranger things have happened.
