Wladimir Klitschko to take Tyson Fury rematch

Hamburg-based Klitschko, who turns 40 next April, says he banished thoughts of retirement in the wake of the shock defeat.

The report adds that the figures represent the 10th-best ratings for a fight on HBO in 2015 and that, “combined with the exclusive rebroadcast in prime time, Fury-Klitschko drew 1.714 million viewers”.

Newly crowned world heavyweight champion Tyson Fury has said he holds an ambition to fight at Croke Park in a world title defence.

Canny Londoner Haye timed his return to boxing with the week of Fury’s magnificent victory over long-reigning champion Wladimir Klitschko on Saturday – a move which Fury claims he has seen right through. “The new champion and his challenger will answer all of them inside the ring”. “I’ll be unified champion at some point”.

Tyson Fury may have beaten Wladimir Klitschko last Saturday, but early odds have Klitschko as a slight favorite for a 2016 rematch.

He said: “Thanks to Tyson I’ve just bought myself a nice little Audemars Piguet, a new watch on him from my winnings, so thank you very much, Mr Fury”.

“I’ve got to fight someone in January and after that fight I would love to have a unification bout – and guess what, I wouldn’t mind coming to the United Kingdom for that one”, he told BBC Radio 5 live. “One of them is Madison Square Garden – I’ve done that one; one of them is Old Trafford, Manchester United – I’ve not done that one; and the other is Croke Park”.

“They shouldn’t be doing that and as far as I’m concerned if they want to hustle and bully Tyson into fighting Glazkov, Tyson will end up putting the belt in the bin at a major press conference”.

In the same interview, Fury also says, “I knew all along I could win the fight. The victor would then take the IBF mandatory”, Peter said. It’s ridiculous. We’re happy to defend it…There’s no way we can take the fight before Klitschko.
