AFC Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe has confirmed the agreement of a deal to sign Wolves striker Benik Afobe.
Howe has now clarified the reports, with the deal potentially being concluded in time for the 22-year-old to feature for the Cherries against West Ham United on Tuesday night. “Sources have told Mirror Sport that they believe Afobe’s representatives have already agreed a deal with Eddie Howe’s Cherries”, the report reads.
“He’ll bring strength, power and hopefully goals. He is a good technical player as well and I think he has the whole package so we will be very excited to see him in a Bournemouth shirt if the deal gets completed”.
Bournemouth lost first choice Callum Wilson to a serious knee injury earlier in the season and have mostly been using Josh King through the middle since.
Howe refused to confirm the fee but Wolves boss Kenny Jackett said it was a sizeable figure and Afobe will leave a gap in his squad.
Afobe, who has been linked with a move for several weeks, has scored 10 goals so far this season.

“Of course we will miss him, he’s our top scorer and you only have to look at what he has done for us in a short time here”.
