Wolves won’t sell Benik Afobe despite reported Norwich transfer interest

The statement comes after speculation linking Afobe with a move away from Molineux, with Norwich and Aston Villa being reportedly interested in signing him.

After the R’s still-suspect defense put them in a 2-0 at Wolverhampton on Wednesday, Austin nodded home a Phillips pass. Then Phillips scored a pair of his own to give QPR its first win of this spin through the Championship.

He said: “They have (made a bid) and it has been turned down and not encouraged whatsoever”.

“We’re not looking to sell our best players and within two weeks of the window closing we’re looking to build. We don’t encourage future bids”.

George Saville is also expected to play a part as he looks to feature in Jackett’s plans.

The Belgian front man has been the club’s top scorer for the last three consecutive seasons and it comes as no surprise that Sherwood may invest in a couple of players to fill the void left by the giant striker.

“Benik has been very good and was a threat”.

Chris Ramsey would like to boost Queens Park Rangers right back into the Premier League, and keeping Charlie Austin and Matty Phillips sure would help that quest.

Afobe Had an excellent opportunity to grab a second just after the restart when he managed to get beyond the two defenders and charged down on goal but Green managed to pull off a great save to keep the depict to one.

“I thought we showed a lot of resilience after we were quite poor in the first 20 minutes”.
