Investigators say a citizen called police after noticing a suspicious ad on Craigslist under the “Baby and Kid Stuff” section. They also asked that the baby’s birth certificate, health records and personal belongings be left in the box.
After the ad was placed, authorities arrested Elaine Williams, 47, of Cumming.
Williams told police she placed the ad because her daughter wanted a baby.
Speaking with WGCL-TV, the 14-year-old daughter said of the ad, “It wasn’t for illegal adoption”.
“The reason was, okay if you don’t want your child or you can’t afford it or whatever situation you’re in, then okay, maybe we can work something out”, the 14-year-old told CBS46 exclusively. If convicted, Williams could spend up to 10 years in prison for the felony, Sheriff Piper said.
Now obviously trying to procure strangers’ babies on Craigslist-for your 14-year-old, no less-isn’t the most sensible idea. Police said they found the notice after receiving a tip from someone who saw it online.

Meanwhile, the sheriff’s office is asking Homeland Security to help it find people who emailed Williams offering to sell their babies so that they can be charged with human trafficking. SPERM DONOR FATHERS 54 CHILDREN, LAUNCHES AN APP The mom provided up her help, authorities stated.
