POLICE have confirmed a woman and a boy were killed when a vehicle ploughed into a group of pedestrians in Lennard Road, Penge yesterday.

“He lost control and ploughed…”

His twin older sisters, Niyah and Yahla, were trapped underneath the black Ford Focus and managed to crawl out after up to 20 bystanders lifted it off them.

A man dressed in black is filmed running across the street, tripping over into the front garden of a house and getting jumped on by police.

Eyewitnesses said another girl, aged around 11 and reportedly Ms Cooper’s daughter, screamed “I can’t feel my legs” before being taken away in an ambulance.

“She gave me a cuddle and a kiss, we don’t know what will happen to her now”.

She added that Makayah was fine one moment, but then “by the time I came back to speak to the little girl to say “your brother is all right”, he was passed out”.

A neighbour told the Evening Standard: “The scale of the tragedy for one family is nearly too much to comprehend”.

His agent Sam Brown, managing director of Brown and Mills Entertainment, said she signed Makayah in June, and described his family as “a very, very talented bunch”.

Ms Cooper was described by a neighbour as “a really nice girl”.

The Independent Police Complaints Commission is sending investigators to the crash scene. The road remained closed late on Wednesday and several police officers were present.

The boy killed is yesterday’s horror police auto chase crash in Penge died alongside his aunt, it has been revealed.

He remains in custody and police are appealing for witnesses.

Three girls were also taken to hospital after the vehicle was driven up onto the pavement.

18-year-old Venissa Vassell said she heard sirens and a auto screeching as she walked from the train station and immediately ran to help.

Jackie Francis, from Beckenham, said: “We would say hello as she came and went, I just couldn’t believe it when I heard”.

“I knocked on the window and pointed”.

Lennard Road was cordoned off as police carried out investigations, and reopened shortly after midnight. There were 474 such collisions in 2013/14.
