The woman said she bought the freezer from her neighbor, but that she didn’t immediately open it because that neighbor told her it was being used as a “time capsule”.

The church was supposed to come by and pick up items inside the freezer. And I put the lid back down and I tried to analyze what I just saw.

No one from the church ever came, however, and eventually, Jane got curious, calling the entire situation “sketchy”.

GOLDSBORO WOMAN FINDS HUMAN REMAINS INSIDE FREEZERJane said she bought the freezer from the woman’s daughter in early May and that it was sealed shut with duct tape.

“She sold me her frozen mother for $30”. “How do you do something like that?”

The woman bought the freezer from her neighbor, who was allegedly selling her belongings in order to move closer to her mother in West Virginia.

The remains were sent to the North Carolina Medical Examiner’s Office for further identification. What she ended up finding inside were human remains she believes belong to her neighbor’s mother, who used to live in the home beside Jane’s but hasn’t been seen since last fall.

That’s when the she made the gruesome discovery.

“I ran out of the house and called 911”. “Then I looked a little beyond the green sheet and I saw toes and a foot and ankle”. “My neighbor sold me a deep freezer”. Second, she recognized the person inside the freezer.

When she was finally ready to use the freezer, she was shocked by what she found inside.

Though the body has not been positively identified, the new owner said she knows the remains are the previous owner’s mother.
