Through multiple tips from the public, troopers were able to positively identify Lataka Mason, 39, of Wilmington, as the suspect. The attack occurred at the Target at 1050 Brandywine Parkway in Brandywine Hundred, at 5:49 p.m. on August 4, 2016. She’s now charged with two counts of assault and endangering the welfare of a child.

When the woman moved her shopping cart to the side in order for Mason to pass, the carts collided, leading to the fight, Hale said. According to police, the Mason then dumped a bottle of bleach on the victim and splashed the baby. Both the woman and the child were treated for non-life-threatening injuries at Wilmington Hospital, Hale said. Mason was apparently arraigned at JP Court 2 and committed to the Delores Baylor Correctional Institution for lack of $25,000 secured bail.
