The question is, why didn’t they just turn her in to the shelter?
“We’re here to serve and protect and that is all life, whether it’s people, whether it’s animals”, she said. Thank you to our staff, volunteers and members of the public who helped us try to bring this dog back to safety. “My intentions, I really didn’t have any intentions about her. And here’s a photo of the dog the Greater Androscoggin Humane Society has been handing out. Police didn’t immediately reveal the person’s identity.
“I love animals to death, but I love my kids more”, she said.
Police say they plan to forward the case to the District Attorney’s Office for review. The woman is working with police and said she expects to be charged.

The dog ultimately died after being struck by a auto. “By the time we got out there, the officers had her in the cruiser and getting her warmed up in their cruiser, so she’s really fortunate”, said Samantha Hawkins, Henderson Humane Society.
