Justen Paul Linskie, 30, was formally charged in State District Court in Duluth with criminal vehicular homicide in the death of 60-year-old Susan Elizabeth LeGarde Menz.

According to a criminal complaint, Linskie allegedly struck Legarde-Menz while driving a white Ford Focus and told eye witnesses, “You never saw me here”, before he ran off into the woods near the Twin Ponds area Tuesday night.
Minnesota court records indicate that Linskie has an extensive history of driving infractions, including driving while intoxicated, driving after revocation, driving without a license and speeding.
A 30-year-old man from Superior, Wis., is accused of hitting a pedestrian on Tuesday in Duluth and fleeing the scene, according to charges filed Thursday by the St. Louis County Attorney’s Office. Menz was found unconscious in the water. Eyewitnesses pulled her out and administered first aid until help arrived. The complaint says Linskie later admitted he was the driver. Authorities identified him by paperwork left in the vehicle and the description from witnesses on scene.

Linskie is now on probation for a federal drug conviction. If convicted, he faces up to 10 years in prison and a $20,000 fine.
