Doctors found a.38-calibre bullet lodged in her leg.
She went to the bathroom where she found not a lot of blood but just fluids draining from the wound. “It’s kind of surreal and cool and not cool, and it made me mad and it made me laugh”, Charlebois said.
Heather Charlebois was enjoying a July Fourth celebration with friends at an outdoor music venue when she heard “a loud pop” she assumed to be a firecracker.
Police told the newspaper the bullet might have come from a gun that was sacked into the air from a distance.
“Everyone was telling me it looked like a bullet hole so they wanted me to go to the hospital, so I did”, she said.

Doctors at Florida Hospital Fish Memorial in Orange City discovered the bullet lodged four centimeters deep into her thigh, which was too close to the femoral artery that they will not remove it as to avoid further damage, WESH reported. Despite the pain she still feels, Charlebois is counting her blessings.
