Dallas police say an 18-year-old female was found slain Monday morning in a crashed minivan near White Rock Lake.
Police have released few details about the crime but said Hastings’ death was the result of “obvious homicidal violence”, according to the Dallas Morning News.
The teen’s home, her church and the creek where she was found are located within a mile of each other. The man told him a girl in the creek needed help, reports the station. “When I saw the scene I just knew it was foul play”.
Detectives have not shared how Hastings died, but her death is certainly a homicide investigation.
A suspect had not been identified.
“Tragedy has struck our community”. When she didn’t show up at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints building, her family called police.
