UCLA students and faculty were due to gather on Friday for another day of tributes to the slain professor, William Klug, 39.

“Our entire UCLA family is mourning”, he said.
A campus vigil for Klug will be held later Thursday night. Sarkar traveled from Minnesota by vehicle a few days before the shooting, investigators said.
The body of Ashley Hasti, 31, was found early Thursday in her home in Brooklyn Park, northwest of Minneapolis.
The faculty member, whose name was not revealed by police, is safe.
The official was not authorized to publicly discuss the case and spoke on condition of anonymity.
Gordy Aune Jr., who lives three doors away and is the neighborhood watch commander, told the AP Hasti lived with her father. Records do not show whether the couple, who appeared to have been living separately, were divorced. Authorities did not identify the second professor. It’s titled, “Coupled Cardiac Electrophysiology and Contraction using Finite Element”. However, there is yet no clarity on why he killed his wife.
“UCLA says there is no truth to this”, Beck said of the alleged theft of code.
“[Sarkar] was certainly prepared to engage multiple victims with the ordnance he had at his disposal”, Los Angeles Police Chief Charlie Beck said. “The list has been described as a kill list, that was the wording that was put on it”. The police were continuing their investigation into her death.
Sarkar is now also suspected in the killing of a woman in Minnesota, according to Reuters. The other professor on the list is safe.
Both victims were on a “kill list” police had found at Sarkar’s Minnesota apartment. Sarkar, 38, was a former student of Klug’s, and authorities said they would focus on his grades and a “longer-standing” poor relationship between the professor and student. Sources tell CBS News Sarkar had a blog post in which he accused the professor of stealing his ideas and computer code.

The shooting prompted a complete lockdown of the campus and deployment of hundreds of police officers as well as federal agents.
They are searching for the grey Nissan Sentra they believe Sarkar drove from Minnesota. In his residence authorities found several rounds of ammunition, a ballistic vest and prescription medication.
“They indicated that this was related to the recent UCLA shooting”, said Brooklyn Park Deputy Chief Mark Bruley. The list also contained the name of another UCLA professor, who Beck did not identify the professor, who was unharmed, he said.
“Sarkar’s face looked familiar when I saw his picture in the media today”, said Sumita Mukherjee, who was secretary to the principal at St. Michael’s when Sarkar attended.
Wednesday’s shooting was carried out by Mainak Sarkar.
In 2013, however, Sarkar had in his doctoral dissertation expressed gratitude to Klug for his help and support.
The industrial township lies just over two hours’ drive northeast of the state capital Kolkata.

At the IIT in Kharagpur on Friday, the dean of the aerospace engineering department said the news of an alumnus being linked to such a crime was “very shocking”.
