Woman found killed in woods; residents urged to be cautious

The authorities are requesting help from anyone who may have seen anything suspicious on the Sunday afternoon of the Google account manager’s murder.

Princeton Town Administrator Nina Nazarian said people in town scheduled a vigil for Tuesday night to honor Marcotte and show support for her family. Her body was found “stripped and damaged” with burns on her hands, feet and face.

The first killing happened on August 2 in Queens, New York, when Karina Vetrano, 30, was strangled to death while out for a jog along a path she often ran with her father.

Residents of Princeton, a sleepy town of 3500 about 65km west of Boston, were urged to use caution after Vanessa Marcotte’s body was found on Monday.

When asked if investigators are considering Marcotte’s death related to the recent murder of Karina Vetrano, the 30-year-old woman killed while jogging through a park in Queens, New York last week, Worcester County District Attorney Spokesman Tim Connolly said, “We have ruled nothing out yet”.
