Other passengers came to the aid of the woman, donating spare children’s clothing items to dress the baby in after she was bathed in mineral water.
Umandal ended her post with a message for the mother wishing her and the newborn well.
“We only heard one semi-loud screech, and a few seconds later, there were tinier, cute screeches, and it was when we knew the baby was born”, Umandal wrote.
The plane’s pilot then decided to make an emergency landing in India to ensure the baby’s safety, causing the flight to be delayed for around 9 hours, the report said. “Luckily, she only had to push ONCE”, wrote Umandal. The plane did an emergency landing in India to ensure the baby’s safety.
We might have misheard the name, but it sounded like the baby would be named “Haven”.
InsideEdition.com has reached out to Cebu Airlines to find out whether the newborn would get free flights for life, but initial calls have not been returned.
And for anyone wondering about the baby’s nationality, it turns out the baby will have Filipino citizenship as Cebu Pacific Air is registered in the Philippines. Most women who are beyond six months of their pregnancy are discouraged from flying, although some airlines allow very pregnant passengers on board flights if they have written clearance from their physician.
Fortunately, another passenger with an infant onboard had a suitcase full of baby clothes and necessities, which were given to the new mother. These proved to be a huge help.
Despite the delay, Umandal was quoted as saying that everyone in the plane felt “blessed” because of what happened.

The flight was also immensely long – it was supposed to be a 9-hour flight but that turned into some 18 hours – but no one on the aircraft complained.
