A woman who was killed after being caught in the crossfire of a shooting at an Atlanta bar parking lot has been identified as a Minnesota state senator’s sister.

Police spokeswoman Elizabeth Espy said two groups of men were shooting at each other in the parking lot, and Taylor Hayden was hit.

A representative for Hayden did not return a request for comment Saturday.

Taylor grew up in Minneapolis.

The 25-year-old was a student at Prairie View A&M University in Texas and was visiting Atlanta, according to the family friend. Hayden says his sister recently moved to Houston for a job. She was a shining light. “She was doing everything we ask of our children”, he said.

People who work near the bar say it gets crowded.

“They are really busy in there. I don’t know what they do inside”, Imran Rauf said.

The bar is owned by former National Football League player Uche Nwaneri.

He also wrote that the gunfire was between two rival gangs, though that information hasn’t been independently confirmed by 11Alive with Atlanta Police investigators. No arrests have been made.
