In an interview with Vermont State Police, which Williams also played at trial, the accuser denied that there was a sexual assault inside a camper near McAllister’s home.

Williams devoted much of the afternoon to highlighting what the woman acknowledged were numerous inconsistencies in her sworn statements. “I laughed at him and told him no”, the woman said of an interaction she said preceded unwanted sex. Wheeler amended the charges to reflect a specific period of time when K.P. worked on McAllister’s farm, approximately from summer 2012 to spring 2013. McAllister protested the legislative suspension, because he had not been found guilty of anything and believed a presumption of innocence should have enabled him to keep representing Franklin County.

As a likely precursor of the questions the alleged victim will face when she testifies Wednesday, Williams asked jurors whether they would have a problem telling the story of a major life event twice, with all the details being the same each time.

He noted that the woman said her hair was dyed purple at the time of the first sexual assault.

The accuser says McAllister forced her to have oral sex with him in a barn near his property, and then weeks later forced her to a bedroom in his home, where he held her down and raped her. She said subsequent sexual assaults took place on McAllister’s couch in his home and in a camper near his house. Williams used photos from her Facebook page to indicate she did not dye her hair purple until almost a year and a half later.

McAllister is also facing a third charge of sexual assault – the trial for which has yet to be scheduled.
