While she was unconscious, Lin Yingying, 22, was unaware that her boyfriend, Liu Fenghe, 25, had been praised in the Chinese media for his devotion.
For 8-months, her partner Liu Fenghe stayed by her side, providing over $41,000 towards treatment, and telling reporters “I want to take care of her for the rest of my life. Even if I have to push her around in a wheelchair, I would be happy”. She was 20 at the time. In January 2015, Lin Yingying was discharged and came under the care of Liu Feng.
She was taken home by her mother and father in February a year ago and regained consciousness in May. Her remains were found when the workers returned to the building, with her hands in a badly mangled state from trying to open the elevator doors.
For the eight months she was in a coma, he held a near-constant vigil at her bedside, posting updates to social media, where thousands followed the progress of the apparently loving couple.
Now Lin is rehabilitating, and claims that her boyfriend is the one that put her in a coma in the first place. Lin said that she remembers falling on the floor and Liu calling for an ambulance.

It also wasn’t the first time that he had attacked her. She claimed he abused her before, but she was too afraid to speak out about it. She once stayed in a hotel to hide the bruises from her family, according to The Daily Mail. It was Lin’s father who recently revealed the story to the police that his daughter was blaming Liu for her severe head injury, which led to the Chinese woman lying in a coma for eight months.
