He stated this at a press briefing after plenary on Thursday, noting that he reacted to an action of Senator Remi Tinubu, the wife of the APC’s National leader, Bola Tinubu.
Tinubu, who is the wife of the National Leader of the All Progressive Congress and also a Senator representing Lagos state, was said to have been threatened by Melaye during an executive session of the senate on Tuesday.
“How could I have said I would beat and impregnate her at the same time?” he asked, denying the use of any “insolent, abusive, degrading and mannerless language against any Senator”.
Tinubu had expressed disapproval of the tactics suggested by Melaye, who was of the opinion that commencing impeachment proceedings against President Muhammadu Buhari will make the Executive back down on the trial.

“Unfortunately, Senator Oluremi Tinubu got up and was recognised to speak and immediately she started speaking, she specifically mentioned my name, “he said”.
Melaye said though he has ambitions, there is nothing wrong with such, adding the “nobody” can stop his political career in Nigeria since he had come this far with support from anyone.
Melaye said, he was addressing the issue officially because of the fear that his character would be assassinated if he keeps quiet since he has been inundated with questions as a result of the wide publication on the fracas. At that point I was still calm.
“You should go and tell those who sent you that nobody, I said nobody, no matter who he is, can ever control this Senate”, Mr. Melaye was quoted as saying as he pointed at the affected senators, his face contorted in rage. She got up again and said that this thug must be tamed. The next statement from her is that ‘you are a dog’.
“You can recall that I am no coward”.

“Meanwhile Senator Melaye should regard the South West Zone as a no-go area if he refused to tender a public apology and desist from such unruly behaviours on any colleague from any party of this country in the future”.
