After winning the team final and individual all-around title last week, Biles won her third gold medal in the vault final on Sunday, making her one of three members of an exclusive three-gold club.

The victory by the 24-year-old Wevers, the oldest Olympic champion in the discipline since Eva Bosakova in 1960, gave the Dutch their second Olympic medal in women’s artistic gymnastics after their team gold at the 1928 Games in Amsterdam.
Simone Biles and Aly Raisman will compete in the floor finals today at 1:47 p.m. EST.
Aug 16, 2016; Rio de Janeiro, Brazil; Simone Biles (USA) competes during to the women’s floor exercise final in the Rio 2016 Summer Olympic Games at Rio Olympic Arena.
‘I have the utmost respect for Usain, ‘ said Gatlin, who won Olympic gold at the 2004 Athens Games and bronze four years ago in London.
The Bahamanian runner was able to win gold – the country’s first medal in Rio – upsetting American Allyson Felix and denying her a fifth gold medal.
She may the smallest athlete on the United States team at 4 feet 8 inches, but there’s no doubt Biles is a gymnastics giant. She scored a 15.500, a little low for her near ideal execution, but still placed her right behind her friend and teammate Simone Biles.
When Tinkler put herself into first place with a score of 14.933, everyone knew she wasn’t safe.
Biles, who already had three golds and a bronze to her credit in Rio, hit the floor before Raisman. She has had an awesome Olympic competition so far, and she is looking to close it out strong today. On her second pass, the signature pass named after her, she had a beautifully controlled landing.
Well, nearly everyone. Karolyi has long trusted Raisman, one of the country’s most consistent performers and hardest workers. She is the two-time reigning world balance champion and falling off the balance is very unusual, surprising and even weird for some.
Raisman was up not long after, though, and she was poised as ever in trying to usurp her teammate and defend her gold medal. Laurie Hernandez of the US took the silver.
Ferrari is a three-time Olympian who finished fourth on the floor in London in 2012 and won the event at the European championships in 2014.
For Biles, she completed an absurdly impressive run at Rio 2016. This was the sixth time she set a World record – she briefly lost the record in 2011 but has since pushed the frontier so far ahead from that 79.42 that this record will stand the test of time. She is only the fourth Olympic gymnast to accomplish that feat.
“She was the spine of the team in 2012, spine of the team here, the most trusted gymnast”.

The Americans were denied a gold medal Monday for the first time since the 2008 Beijing Olympics, and it took two big stumbles to keep the “Star Spangled Banner” on pause.
