“To my friends & fans: Last week I announced my heart-felt decision to support the women of Miss U.S. by remaining on board as a co-host. The work continues as always despite all this craziness going on”, she said.

But it seems Trump, again, didn’t win the battle.

Part of the statement from Jeannie Mai via Facebook read, “Let me be clear, I condemn the recent words of Mr. Trump, and find them immensely offensive”.

“In addition, given Mr. Trump’s ongoing antics, including his most recent episode today with the current Miss Universe, it is clear that Mr. Trump’s actions have and will continue to distract focus away from the real stars of the show – the women involved in the pageant”.

“For the past 64 years, [The Miss Universe Organization has] created partnerships with great charity groups and have helped thousands of communities”.

“I have kept doing my job as Miss Universe all these days”.

I Strongly Believe That dividing humankind and Categorizing only holds it back. “Bending and embracing the differences that exist across humanity is the first step in actual and substantial development”. We must STRIVE together in order to improve increase the common good.

“It’s coming from more than Mexico”, he added. Trump has also attracted wrath for many other remarks, resulting in anger at his political platform.

Trump filed a $500 million lawsuit against Univision on Tuesday, saying the company was trying to stifle his freedom of speech by backing out of its plans to air the show. Colombia has refused to host the event and Mexico announced it will not be sending any contestants. “It makes no sense that Donald Trump has called me a hypocrite for the fact that I didn’t give up the Miss Universe crown”.

Vega, 22, won the 2014 Miss Universe pageant last January in Miami.

Several American TV networks have said they will no longer show Miss Universe – including Spanish language network Univision and NBC – because of Trump’s statement.
