Wonder Woman Gets Official Stamp for 75th Anniversary

At Comic-Con alone, the celebration includes a display of costumes from that movie (as well as from Lynda Carter’s time as the Amazon Princess from the 1970s TV show) in the DC booth on the convention floor, as well as a Saturday afternoon panel dedicated to Wonder Woman’s history across different media.

Wonder Woman is having her Comic-Con moment.

The U.S. Postal Service, working with Warner Bros. and DC Comics, is celebrating the character’s diamond anniversary by chronicling her evolution on Forever stamps from her World War II origins to today. In the city’s Gaslamp Quarter, there’s a Wonder Woman art installation and a nighttime attraction where fans can interact with her Invisible Jet, lit up after the California sun goes down. Her first appearance was in this year’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, but WW will be featured in her own solo movie next summer starring alongside Chris Pine and Robin Wright.

The trailer starts with Ben Affleck’s Bruce Wayne, hunting down Aquaman (Jason Mamoa), presumably putting together the team of warriors From there, almost all the big names get a moment to shine, including Cyborg (Ray Fisher), Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot), and The Flash (Ezra Miller). “Since the two coolest women in my life loved Wonder Woman, of course, I did too”.

With as many women as men in the Comic-Con crowds, Nelson sees the anniversary as an opportunity to convey what makes Wonder Woman special.

A standalone film is in post-production and will be released in June 2017.
