The pair met in the early 90s when they were castmates on Disney’s Mickey Mouse Club.
They dated from 1999 to 2002 with Timberlake’s Cry Me A River song written about their break-up.
Britney said in a YouTube interview last month that she would definitely like to work with Justin if given the chance, calling him “very good”.
Timberlake told E! News he hadn’t heard about Spears’ remarks because his son, Silas, with wife Jessica Biel, is the focus of all his attention.
He added, “I apologize for not being in the know…”
“She did?” Timberlake said to Malkin. News before turning to the camera with a special message for Spears: “I’m accessible, give us a call!”
Justin’s former NSYNC bandmate Lance Bass also approved of a possible collaboration, telling E!, “I would love to see that happen, of course”.

A representative for the pop princess issued a statement distancing herself from the project and making it clear she doesn’t approve.
