Woods says he’s feeling better, but no plan for return yet

MONTGOMERY, Texas (AP) – An 11-year-old from Corpus Christi, Texas had a day he’ll never forget on the golf course – and it happened with Tiger Woods watching.

He has no idea when he will return to competitive golf, but the goal is to get stronger and more flexible.

Tiger Woods feels healthy enough to chip, putt and challenge his 7-year-old son to short-game contests.

But Woods’ agent, Mark Steinberg, strongly denied those reports on February 22 and then two days later the golfer posted a 13-second video on Twitter in which he was shown hitting a 9-iron on a golf simulator. They were not among the money leaders on either the PGA or European Tours and are out of the top 50 in the world.

He said on a video broadcast on www.golfchannel.com: “When I was there in December at the Hero, I wasn’t feeling very good and you could see it all over me”.

Writing on his official website, Woods, who is now ranked 446 in the world, said: “As I announced last week, I am starting to feel a lot better. Part of that is playing golf; I have been chipping and putting with Charlie”.

‘I couldn’t play with my kids; I wasn’t able to throw and play catch with my son.

“This was meant more for all of Tiger’s fans who had reached out since all of this erroneous reporting came out over the weekend that he was so disabled he had to sit in the passenger seat of a auto”, Steinberg told ESPN.

Tiger Woods says he has learned from past mistakes of coming back from injury too soon.

Needless to say, it was a day to remember for young Taylor Crozier and the young boy’s scorecard will certainly be a treasured reminder of the unforgettable moment.

Jason Day, victor of the 2015 PGA Championship and one of the consensus modern Big Three (along with Jordan Spieth and Rory McIlroy), said on Wednesday that he had a almost hourlong encouraging phone conversation last week with Woods.

Every time that I talk to him, it’s mindset, mental toughness, effort.
