Workers are not fans of Black Friday starting on Thanksgiving
Wal-Mart once again is hoping to lure customers to its stores on Thanksgiving with deals on five items guaranteed to all shoppers who are in a store between 6 and 7 p.m. Those items include an LG 55-inch 4K television for $698 and an HP Touch Laptop for $249.

Open: 6 P.M., November 26th, Thanksgiving Day through 9 P.M., Nov. 27th, Black Friday. The whole holiday season is so bloated with deals that shoppers can basically shop any day over a two month period and still get great prices on the items they want. Target will also discount video games for Black Friday.
Last year, it gave free gift cards to its customers to sugarcoat its Black Friday deals like bundling $100-140 gift cards with iPads.
REI’s decision to go dark on Black Friday doesn’t mean there aren’t good deals to be found from the outfitter.
Stores opens for 48 hours starting at six o’clock in the evening on November 26, Thanksgiving Day.
Offering up the same deals online is a marked shift for the retailer, as the goal of major Black Friday doorbusters has traditionally been just that – to get people superexcited about getting to the store.
Most of the retailers in the staying closed camp said they did so out of consideration for their employees.
The last few days, we’ve shown you some of the deals on mobile devices being offered by retailers like Best Buy, Target and other retailers. Instead, it plans to simplify the crazed shopping period by providing almost all of its deals both online and in stores at once.
Many large retailers, including Target, Best Buy, Kohl’s and Toys “R” Us, will continue to open their doors for bargain-hunting shoppers on Thanksgiving Day this year, even as other national chains push back against the practice. You can also view Target’s Black Friday ad by clicking here.
“We’ve worked really hard to secure substantial product”, Bratspies said.
That’s another disadvantage of Black Friday shopping, waking up early to stand in a long line.
That broader strategy is a backdrop for the retailer’s decision to set aside more inventory this year in key holiday-season categories such as electronics and toys.
