World Breastfeeding Week: Thousands of Women Will Breastfeed in Public
“We are strong advocates of breastfeeding and we educate all moms on the nutritional value it has during a baby’s first year of life and beyond”.

The worldwide event, called the “Big Latch On”, is part of World Breast Feeding week from Aug. 1 to Aug. 7, started by the World Alliance for Breastfeeding Action. “So, this year’s World Breastfeeding Week campaign theme is ‘breastfeeding and work let s make it work, ‘” says Nielsen.
The walk will be held in downtown Red Bluff beginning at the farmers market at Washington and Pine streets at 5:30 p.m., Wednesday, August 5.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, mothers who breastfeed their children are at a healthier weight on average than those who do not.
The prime minister highlighted importance of breastfeeding in a message on the eve of the World Breastfeeding Week-2015 that begins on Saturday, BSS reports.
“Moms need support from their family and community to reach their goals in breastfeeding their baby”.

The nutrition staff in these clinics receive monthly training updates in order to use the proper policies and procedures appropriately to provide basic breastfeeding education to program participants as well as anyone in the community interested in breastfeeding information. It is estimated Kansas could save $120 million in health care costs and prevent an excess of eight deaths per year if 90 percent of Kansas families breastfed exclusively for six months.

Flexible break times and a private location are provided for mothers to express milk. In Great Bend, the Barton County Courthouse, Barton County Health Department and Great Bend Regional Hospital earned Gold Level Awards for their support employees of breastfeeding mothers returning to work.
