World Famous Landmarks in Blue Light on United Nations 70th Anniversary
The worldwide community should work together to realize the noble objectives of the United Nations and further strengthen this world body to make it even more effective.

The Secretary-General highlighted “the adoption of the inspiring 2030 Sustainable Development Goals, the United Nations has pointed the way towards progress for all human kind”.
To mark this anniversary, more than 300 monuments and buildings in more than 75 countries are being illuminated in United Nations blue from Australia to Azerbaijan, Indonesia to Iraq, Saudi Arabia to South Sudan.
The United Nations celebrated its 70th anniversary yesterday turning more than 150 of the world’s most iconic buildings, landmarks and bridges blue – the official colour of the UN.
The United Nations was established because of following deliberations held at the Declaration of St. James Palace, the Altantic Charter, The United Nations Declaration (January1, 1942), the Moscow Delcaration (October 30, 1943), the Dumbarton Oaks Conference (1944), the Yalta Conference ( Febuary 11, 1945), Sanfrancisco Conference (June 25, 1945).
“The 70th anniversary is a good reason to think about and assess the state and prospects of the Organization’s development”.
In aftermath of Typhoon “Yolanda” in 2013, the United Nations was one of the first organizations to commit assistance to victims of the calamity, Valte said. This required all five permanent members of the Security Council – the United States, China, France, the United Kingdom and the Soviet Union – as well as a majority of the 51 original signatories, to ratify the founding document. “As we shine a light on this milestone anniversary, let us reaffirm our commitment to a better and brighter future for all”.
