World Hepatitis Day Awareness is the basic remedies of Hepatitis
Of those screened, 6,043 people tested positive for hepatitis C, a prevalence rate of 4.2 percent, the foundation said, adding that the highest infection rate of 7.3 percent was detected in a region comprising Yunlin, Chiayi and Tainan counties, indicating that one in every 14 people in the area might have hepatitis C.

2016 a pivotal year for viral hepatitis: NNP+.
World Hepatitis Day is Thursday, and we urge the people of California to take this moment to focus on cancer prevention.
But unlike HIV, which has safe and effective treatments that can dramatically reduce transmission of the virus from mother to child, “for hepatitis C, there are no treatments to prevent transmission in a mom or in a newborn”, said Narkewicz.
5- Easier Methods of diagnosis & treatment should be taken.
Several drugs for different genotypes of the virus have been developed and were initially sold for $90,000 per patient.
A new campaign is targeting people who could be at risk, such as those who have tried drugs when they were younger, to come forward for testing. Hepatitis A is genetically closer to the common cold than it is to hepatitis B, for example.
It was first discovered in the 1980s when scientists identified that new variant of Hepatitis, other than A and B, was causing liver damage.
Every year on 28 July, HMC joins the world to observe World Hepatitis Day, raising awareness and understanding of viral hepatitis and highlighting the importance of measures to prevent spread of the disease.
“Hepatitis B vaccine is a safe, affordable, well tested vaccine which is now included in the infant imminisation programme”.
Ms Tyrell said the target to eliminate the virus had become a reality after a record number of people were treated in the past few months.
After all, a new era in hepatitis treatment began in 2013 with the approval of interferon-free oral combination therapy that was demonstrated in clinical trials studies led by the U-M to cure hepatitis C in 95 percent of patients. Topics included HIV/Hepatitis C outbreak vulnerability in Appalachia; implementation of Louisville’s syringe exchange program; treatment access for Hepatitis C; and regional data on addiction and treatment, among other issues related to viral hepatitis.
Hepatitis C, likewise, can be asymptomatic for decades.
“It’s a call to arms to figure out how we can do this better”, said Dr. Michael Narkewicz, who specializes in pediatric liver diseases and hepatitis C at the University of Colorado School of Medicine.
They indicate that up to 60 per cent of chronic liver diseases and 80% of liver cancer cases in the country are due to chronic infection with the Hepatitis B virus.
While viral hepatitis remains a substantial public health challenge in Australia and world-wide, with political will, adequate investment and global partnerships, the world can eliminate viral hepatitis by 2030. The disease is mainly caused by viruses but certain infections, autoimmune diseases or toxic materials may also be responsible for causing hepatitis.
This form of hepatitis can easily spread from person to person while causing mild illness.

Until recently, the screening for the disease was not considered to be a priority because the treatment was lacking. It’s time to make HCV medication available to all who need it. The upfront cost of the treatment also saves hundreds of thousands of dollars in long-term lifetime costs associated with infection.
