World’s first smartphone with 6GB RAM and Snapdragon 820 processor
It has already started releasing teasers which detail the awesome Xplay 5 configuration. If you think 4 GB of RAM is a lot, you should know that the XPlay 5 will have a whopping 6 GB of RAM, and will probably be the first smartphone to feature this monstrous amount of RAM. Rumours also point out that some of Vivo XPlay 5 RAM will be used for graphics only, however many see this to be impossible with the Snapdragon 820.

There’s no mention of price and availability though we doubt that Vivo will launch the Xplay 5 anywhere else but China. However, the latest teaser caused a commotion on the Internet when it indicated that the device will be the first to be released with 6 GB RAM. Among other applications, RAM optimizes resource utilization to ensure that the smartphones work smoothly and are not affected by any holdup. One of the greatest contrasts between the two handsets is that the Vivo 5 highlights 3GB of RAM and accompanies 32GB inbuilt storage while the Vivo XL packs 2GB of RAM and incorporates 16GB of inbuilt storage. Moreover, Samsung too has recently announced that it will go into mass production of 6GB mobile RAM soon.
Vivo won’t officially unveil the phone until March 1st, but the company did post a teaser on Weibo confirming the processor and memory (it’ll use LPDDR4 RAM, by the way).
While it is clear that the phone will run on Android operating system, it will be interesting to watch whether the phone sports a Lollipop or Marshmallow platform.

Earlier this month we reported that Vivo had posted a teaser suggesting the Vivo Xplay 5 would have a design with dual curved display. Additionally, it is said the handset will also feature solar charging capabilities.
