Worried about image, Trump turns down some ‘SNL’ skits

Trump highlighted that as President, immigration would be one of the main points of contention he would address. And I would imagine we were one of many families laughing together all across this country, and for moments, we were just like everyone else.

Neither NBC nor Trump’s campaign responded to BuzzFeed News’ request for comment.

Trump outraged the Latino community in June (15) when he made a series of controversial comments about Mexican immigrants in the US during his campaign launch, and many celebrities including Ricky Martin, Pitbull and Eva Longoria have voiced their opinions about Trump’s comments.

The petitions have circulated on social media, with the hashtag #RacismIsntFunny.

“We’re really hopeful”, Luke Montgomery, activist and founder of Deport Racism 2016, told THR about those offering to heckle Trump.

Saturday will mark Trump’s second time hosting the show.

Michael Ian Black – a comedian who has often collaborated with SNL alums and cast members – decried the show’s choice of host on Twitter, calling Trump a racist and criticizing the show for “sucking up to the powerful”. Earlier this week, “SNL” released several promotional spots featuring Trump, including one in which he refers to a Republican opponent, Ben Carson, as “a complete and total loser”.

It’s not uncommon to have a few back-and-forth between host and writing staff in the days leading up to a new “Saturday Night Live” broadcast.

Donald Trump unleashed his first ads on Thursday, promising to “make our country great again” and assailing traditional pols who are “all talk and no action”. “It’s not like “SNL” can do a sketch where he says ‘John McCain isn’t a war hero.’ He’s already said that in real life, so they have to raise a bar he has already raised in real life”.

Those high ratings won’t come without major headaches for NBC.
